12-year-old Coco has a long summer ahead of her with her cheerful patchwork family in their new home. If only it wasn’t for her neighbour Maik, younger than her and different in so many aspects. Their first encounters are already rocky, and Coco soon realises: Maik lives in constant emotional turmoil, his moods changing rapidly – often into a rage that Coco has never experienced before. Maik’s anchor is his fish tank and the fish living in it. His separated parents offer little support, something Coco is unfamiliar with, too.

Between childhood and adolescence, family and neighbours, friendships and anger, incomprehension and compassion, loyalty and the desire for freedom – Coco still finds her way in this summer.
